Paenibacillus sp. JDR-2. Paenibacillus sp. JDR-2 was isolated from sweet gum stem wood buried in surface soil. This organism is able to break down methylglucuronxylan in hemicellulose. Paenibacillus sp. JDR-2 may be useful in the production of alternative fuels from plant biomass.
